Tasted this after having a 1997 Col d’Orcia Brunello Riserva. Still young, but definitely approachable now. Similar to the 97, it was aromatic of spice and red berry. Nice acidity and ripe tannins. Not as complex as the 97, but still very structured.

Perfect cork with zero tongueing. A very good btl, almost getting a gold star. (Still unnecessarily young.) Amazing tannic structure and good build. Acids are here and the balance is charming. However, there's very little complexity and no exciting architecture.
A perfectly ok BdM, but not worth seeking out in this vintage, at least not for now. Life's too short for these off wines. This producer usully does better.

Garnet-colored, herbs and dusty fruit on the nose. Wild strawberry, pomegranate, leather, and some earthiness on the palate. Fruit and tannins are nicely integrated. Excellent complement to all our pasta dishes at the fabulous L’Isola restaurant on St. Barths. Not the last word in Brunello by any means, but nice enough that we had a second bottle. The 2014 has plenty of life left.

Seems closed. Mid/blah vintage. Not a brunello, really, in my books. Not even remotely worth its price. This is Sangiovese and yes that is a slur.

Cherries, dirt and some oak. Quite a lot of tannins, very dry finish. Nice acidity. Young and holds up over night.
