Nice oldie.. Made in the old Giroud style so it needs ageing. Still full of life: body, fruit and nicely aged. Tones of raspberry and roses. Improves with air.

This was just a pleasure. After a few hours in decanter a sweet nose of somewhat smokey tobacco leaves, some old leather and jammy sweet red fruits with spices on top. On the palate - a little thin in the middle but it hangs on for quite some time. Nice food friendly structure.

this note is being written after the fact. i remember this being a pleasurable bottle but not offering the wow factor that would justify a $60+ price tag. this was among the last vintages made by the giroux family before selling the business to colgin who updated winemaking facilities, most likely resulting in changes in winemaking style.
