  • shared at home with pat. i am very pleased with this wine. this time around it is an easy 90. the wine has opened up and shows off immediately after opening. luscious fruit. firm mouth feel. finish lingers for several seconds. holds up to roasted chicken. this wine is a sleeper. four years later the current vintage is available at the same price point. will run and get some.

  • The cork was a little questionable as far as smell but the wine improved after a little time out of the bottle. Light purple color. The blend of five grapes works harmoniously. Not a lot of fruit, actually appears to have a taste that is a touch watered down. Certainly drinkable but not great.

  • Probably a fair value for $13, this wine is a melange of five grape varieties. The nose is closed right now maybe containing some smokey, pruny fruit. On the palate, we get some cooked but not carmelized cherry, a little green vegetation (not in a nice way) and I worried that this wine was affected by TCA. The cork was certainly "corked", it was just nasty with TCA, but the wine seemed to be free of the stuff. But the bottle just felt dead which may be due a suspect fake cork. Drink up now because this is not getting any better. I had the '05 at a weddnig this summer and it was clearly at or near peak so I think this wine is not long for this earth. Quaff em if you got em. Spoofulated, my God give me a break Slaton. If I deigned to purchase this again, in any vintage, it would most likely have to be on sale (under $10) and for consumpion over the short term.

  • This might be a tad past its prime. Medium bodied, the palate showed juicy plum with a little wet earth and a touch of vanilla, but an unpleasant sharpness shows up on the finish (a little dash of vinegar). Drink now if you still have some.
