  • Color: light ruby with grey and blue reflexes; hazy
Nose: blueberry and raspberry, vanilla, underbrush and potting soil. There is a hint of leather as well
Palate: medium-high acidity andedium tannin, perceptible on the tongue at the end of the sip. Medium bodied for a good balance. It has a bitter quality to it as well, and something green that suggests this may have been not destemmed
    Finish: medium

Great purity of fruit, this is a wine of quality at what I can imagine is its peak. There are clear woodsy tertiaries but the fruit is still vigorous. Beautiful with pork loin, I am a little sad I only bought one

  • Prior bottle was just over 13 months ago and this wine remains in a very good place. Nose shows bright red berries, strong forest floor qualities (earth & spices) as well as some red raspberry. Medium bodied with red berries and red cherry upfront, adding red raspberry through the middle and finishing with tart red cherry and cranberry. The fruit profile is virtually identical to my prior bottle. Acidity continues to provide good contrast along with the spice and mineral notes on the finish. Showing quite well at present, but has the structure and fruit depth to drink well over the next 2-3 years.

  • Prior bottle was just over 13 months ago and the wine has evolved quite positively in that time. Red berries, red raspberry, earth and spices on a nose that's more aromatic and more identifiable as Anthill than prior bottles. Medium bodied now with rounded red cherry and slightly brighter red berries upfront. Deepens to red raspberry through the middle with tart red cherry and cranberry behind. Finishes with balanced tannins and a touch of acidity to go with the mineral and spice notes. As compared to my prior bottles, the fruit notes felt more resolved and the wine, better integrated overall. Should continue to evolve along these lines and I'll wait on my next bottle until Q1 2023.

  • In a great spot and quite enjoyable. Feels like a toned down version of the Demuth, which at this point had a richer nose and more burgundy feel.

  • Prior bottle was nearly a year ago and my notes were quite comparable. Red cherry and red berries on the nose with an undertone of earth and light spices. Nearly medium bodied red cherry and red berries upfront showing clarity and mineral-accented definition. Mid-body brings in a touch of additional density along with soft red raspberry and then tart red cherry and cranberry behind. Minerals and spices along with integrated tannins and balancing acidity provide for a harmonious finish. Took a bit over two hours to open up and when it came together, the fruit notes and structural qualities showed that this wine has several more years ahead of it. Next bottle for me, Q1 2022.
