This wine presents as a cooler climate Syrah, which makes sense given its Mendocino appellation. Nose is very fragrant, with bright cherry somewhat indicative of a Pinot, but the taste lacks earthiness and is high in acid through the finish. This worked well with grilled baby back ribs and peach bbq sauce.

Liked by this. With its stemmy notes, blackberry fruit, and elegant tannins it actually reminded me a fair bit of some 2020 burgundies.

Olive tapenade, cranberry, violet, black pepper, iron. Medium body & acidity. Drink now or in the next 3-4 years.
