Medium yellow. A: pear and a later waft of honey. F: mostly a textural wine, not giving much in fruit flavors. Creamy and unctuous with a bit of yellow fruit, and good but not great acid. Maybe this will be more expressive later on.

Mavens fall allocation if I recall correctly; one of a number of whites in the box, which is somewhat atypical. The color was unusually rich and golden. I tend to think that signifies oxidation (at least in say white burgundies) but not at all in this case. A bigger fleshy chenin with a satisfying palate-coating texture; moderate acidity, a little racy, tropical notes, a bit more structure than many a chenin blanc.

Chose this wine at the Roark tasting room to accompany a baked salmon dinner that evening. Bright lemon-pear on the nose: crisp, clean sensation of the palate with lemon/lime on the palate; satisfying finish. Folks at the table finished this wine before a very good pinot noir.

Slank og mangler den typiske tunge bagende som Chenin Blanc kan have.
