On the nose: Petrol, lemon, lime, orange peel and slight hint of tropical fruits.
On the Palate: Petrol, pineapple, orange, lime and minerality. Crisp fresh acidity and a long finish.
The petrol jumps out to meet you pleasantly. The wine has great intensity and length and good minerality. It Felt riper and fuller than most of the 2017 Rieslings I had recently, but kept growing on me with time and the intense lime started to shine trough. Give this a few hours to get some air, or keep in your cellar for a few more years. Not completely sold on this example/style yet, but still a high quality wine I cannot deny.

Klasse!

-- popped and poured -- -- tasted non-blind over a couple hours on Day 1; revisited on Day 7 --
NOSE: petrol; Topps bubblegum; light grain/malt note; green grapes dominate the fruit.
BODY: medium maize color; medium-light bodied.
TASTE: high acidity; light apple cider; dry; light petrol; medium concentration of fruit; steely mineral behind the fruit; 12.5% alc. is hidden; not high-pitched or deeply-pitched, but rather right in the middle; quite impressive --- I like this a lot, and it's also different than my usual, which I appreciate. Day 7: still drinking well, now with lots of fruit (more than Day 1). Seems there's lots of material here, and it will continue along a favorable ageing path. Excellent!

A true GG, very drink animating with a harmonious balance, no doubt Riesling with a focus on minerality and modern slight reduction character. Liked it very much.
Looking forward to vintage 2021 with 'Schwarze Herrgott' GG and this 'Frauenberg' as well.

Masterclass Kühling-Gillot / Battenfeld-Spanier (Restaurant De Scheepskameel, Amsterdam, NL): Lighter in expression and in style than the Schwarzer Herrgott 2017, similar ripeness and energetic core of acidity and the apple skin bitters.
