  One of these days, I will learn to decant all my wines! Upon opening, this wine was a disappointment - rough, crude, etc. The word I first used was "eh...". To my dismay, two days later, it was lovely. Very enjoyable. A wine I would definitely buy again. So, whether one gives it a serious decanting, or wait a few years, this 2017 is quite enjoyable.

  Medium-light red ruby in color. Full, fragrant & aromatic nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries & berries with overtones of floral notes of roses, dried herbs & earthy/dusty notes, spices, a hint of minerals. Medium bodied with a good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, cranberries & pomegranate with herbs, spices & minerals. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting and extended airing, but may benefit & develop further with additional aging. Excellent QPR for a Nebbiolo.

  Primary but pure and easy to drink. Really delightful with Manchego. Tasted over 2 days - some of the primary-ness was gone on the second evening and this was drinking very well. Could do much worse for the price ($18 Costco). Probably improves with another year or two of rest.
