Two months after the prior: Darn, we opened another, although we had intended to hold. Lovely as before over four nights — and making a nice foil for Thai and spicy foods.

Medium golden straw. Lovely yellow orchard fruit, with a hint of stone fruit pit. Refreshing acid backbone, giving this naturally sweet wine lively tension. Nice long finish. Very enjoyable over three days, gaining along the way. We will try to wait a couple years before opening the next.

Smokey mineral notes on the nose initially and as it opens up, white apple and white peach come in as well. Close to medium bodied (8% ABV) with a mix of white and yellow apple upfront. Moves to white peach and more yellow apple through the middle with some pear notes towards the back. Good depth through the middle, but still (unsurprisingly), a bit closed. The acidity and tart notes don't jump off the page but it feels like they are concealing a good amount of the mid-body expression in a more subtle, rather than an overt fashion. With young riesling, the acidity can sometimes be so vibrant and electric, it conceals some of the fruit. The acidity and tart notes accomplish the same thing here, but just aren't as in-you-face about it. Given that, I suspect this wine should open up quite well with time and I'll plan to hold my next bottle until Fall 2023.

Lychee, green apple, white peach, apricot. A bit young. Refreshing, long finish. Had with peanut/sesame noodles.
