Medium- bodied, traditional styling with modern elements. Terroir driven, here is a cool-climate mineral-style Chardonnay but with warm-weather tones: tropical fruit and skins, yellow apple flesh, and a bit of pistachio shells and coconut milk from the oak. Perhaps a hint of skin contact? 12.5% abv. Well made, and will make Chardonnay traditionalists blush. Better on day 2. 90-91

Medium golden in the glass. The first thing that hits the nose is the oak, but with a little bit of air, a fruit bomb goes off - notes of ripe pineapple, mango juice, yellow apple, apricot. Hints of biscuit and butter subtly complement. Perfectly balanced on the palate like always, but since the wine is too young, the acidity may stick out a bit as sharp (this will settle in the years to come). Compared to the older vintages, this is most similar to the '15, but has more ripeness. Beautifully complex and balanced. A show stopper.

Tasted at Caviste, Hampshire, UK, hosted by owner and winemaker Ray Nadeson. A well balanced wine, dry, crisp, buttery, oaky fruits. The wine seems young at the moment and Ray suggested it will age gracefully.
