On nose: notes of warm steel, cigar tobacco and Damson plum skin. On palate: all above flavours enhanced, in addition to ripe plum fruit, coffee, savoury herb, and a ghost of mesquite charcoal, all offered on a dense, flavourful medium body with present, well integrated acidity , at 8 years of age ....after a 2 hour decant. A fine example of Montepulciano, with a slightly New World accessibilty ....went perfectly with strip- loin steak and potato salad, this evening...can age easily.

Well made wine, bracing acidity and chewy tannins, fruit slightly subdued alone, but paired fantastic with homemade pesto/pasta dish, really shines as a food wine. Would certainly buy again.

A developing wine with strong tannin backbone which should need 3-5 years of bottle age to improve. It's ok and very much in the style of Montepulciano d'abruzzo.

7 Days in Italy II; 2/17/2019-2/23/2019: More present fruit aromas. This is a selection in the vineyard, 60% of the sites are the same year to year. 60% in stainless. 18m in wood. Big barrel, barrique, concrete. 1yr in bottle. Damn, yes, well integrated bitter herb.

Wonderfully balanced for the price; acid, tannin, fruit all there.
