  • shared with pat at selkirk manor to celebrate the end of the work week. last tasted on8/26/2017 and rated 90 points. tonight's bottle was the last of a six pack. it is hard to believe that i have been following this wine for nine years. seems like yesterday that pat brought this home as a surprise for me. have enjoyed each bottle opened thus far. also hard to believe that it has been nineteen months since we last tasted. on present tasting, this wine continues to be a gem. in my experience, it continues to be among best wines from abruzzo at this price point. i love everything valentina does. this particular wine has the additional advantage of offering great qpr. the wine has not changed significantly since last tasting. the wine continues to show dark red color with blue hues. still has ponderous nose. still rich and full in the mouth. the wine is now at or near full maturity but still offers great pleasure. still has some tannins. lots of dark fruit and some earth in the mouth. firm structure. long finish. this wine may have reached a plateau but should continue to remain stable for sometime to come before beginning to decline.
