For an “entry level” cuvée, this wine performs well above its peers. Beautiful in the glass with light yellow that captures and holds summer. The usual suspects of lymon, wet limestone and mineral are all present on the nose and palate delivering much joy. But the story line here is the apricot and the intensity of it. It is not heavy-handed in any way, but every sip just drips with apricot. Everything is in balance with bright acidity but nothing shrill and nothing flabby. 13% alc. With spiced shrimp. 09.02.23. Recommended, but leaning toward Highly Recommended.

Light yellow in the glass, but the nose is anything but light. Intense apricot followed by lymon, wet limestone and mineral. It always amazes me how light Cailbourdin’s wines can be and yet chalked full of bouquet. The palate tracks the nose with a body hung on a deft frame of acidity. 13% alc. With kunick, evalon, alp blossom, Parmesan cheeses and baguette. 04.22.22. Recommended, but with a glance toward Highly Recommended.

Limited notes taken. Clear, star bright, pale straw with a silver outer edge. Gooseberry, lemon zest, green apple, cut grass, bell pepper, tomato leaf, damp stones. Bone dry with racy acidity.
