For some reason, we were thinking of a ”bistro” wine, something lighter to accompany a light bite before going to a theatrical production. We had had a cru Beaujolais the night prior, so I selected the Clos Cibonne rouge. Cherry red, almost medicinal nose, lighter weight, with dark berry fruit and pleasing acidity. Hits the spot.

Probably better a bit on the younger side than is the case now… lighter-bodied, quite dry yet pleasing finish that has a slight medicinal note. We should drink the remaining bottle in our cellar!

Had gained a bit of weight with a year in bottle, and the better for it. Very much a provençal/luberon profile, herby, tasty, medium to light weight and fresh.

Solid with a light nose and flowery taste. Hint of earthiness and truffle.
