Pulled a glass via Coravin and left to air for about 45 minutes before attempting to swirl and smell. Translucent ruby color. Quite reduced at the moment with a burnt match stick note that really dominates. Swirling chases this sulfur-linked note away, but it creeps back into the bouquet rather quickly. Underneath are dark red notes of cherry and dry figs. After getting past the sulfur notes and actually tasting, I found that beyond the cherry and fig notes, there was a hint of raisin, along with an herbaceous quality that finished just a little on the tart side. This wine is certainly interesting to taste. Not sure how "drinkable" this will become, but tasting it has some appeal. Somehow I think this might pair with just about anything barbeque related. I think I might have to buy a fancy amarone just to tell whether this one is any good.

Dark, medium-dense appearance in the glass. Spicy dried fruit, with fig, blackberry and plummy aroma. Mellow flavors of fig, raisins, and cinnamon spice. Well balanced with controlled tannins and alcohol. Pleasing, easy finish. Excellent with lasagna or other mildly sauced Italian fare.

As with so many Amarone this wine had somewhat of a bitter finish. It was medium bodied but without any fruity raisin hints that I expected. It was drinkable but will probably not buy again.

Very nice Amarone, still very much on the young side.

Delicious! I don’t know much about Amarone but this was definitely worth it. Excellent balance of fruit, acidity, and tannins.
