  • Sat, 09/07/19, $2 Tasting (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): PROBABLY 100% S.B. with lees aging & NO oak

N: A melding of grass & funk, but not UNattractive -- particularly as the barnyd/forest floor stuff begins to blow off

P: Med body; RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish frt (approaching threshold R.S.?) met by counterbalancing acidity which keeps things in check into & through the LONG, balanced, tangy/swt finish. Nicely done in its style! For now & through '21, I'd suspect. My VG+/EXC-; [I didn't see any wine-searcher competition for this vendors price, which is now $10.95.]

    Note: Also tasted on 9/8/18 & 4/20/19

  • Sat, 04/20/19, $2 Tasting (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): PROBABLY 100% S.B. with lees aging & NO oak

N: Fairly fragrant, intriguing melding of grass & earth, POSS with toasty notes?

P: Med, poss LM, body; RNDISH entry with ALMOST swtish frt (approaching threshold R.S.?) NICELY counterbalanced by a TANGY acidity which subtly directs the action into & through the LONG, BALANCED finish with an attractive tangy/swtness. VERY nicely done, & could also serve as a quaff for those who enjoy tanginess. For now & into, poss through, '21. My EXC-. • Sat, 09/08/18, $2 Tasting (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): PROBABLY 100% S.B. with lees aging & NO oak

N: Fairly pungent grass with undertones of minerals, poss flowers?

P: LM body; Rndish entry with NICE frt counterbalanced by acidity which morphs into a LONG, tangy/swt finish with the BAREST *hint* of a very, VERY slight bitterness. For now & into EARLY '20. My VG+, though one could make a case for higher based upon the QPR of this vendor's $9.95, for which I didn't see any wine-searcher competition.
