  • Aroma of floral note, faint but elegant. The taste showed its old age, nice acidity with spice.

  • A mind blowing Christmas dinner wine!
I had this very property 10 years ago , in 2009.....dry , disintegrating cork, fishy, pruny nose and thin tart palate...barely drinkable.
    FLASH FORWARD : 2018...
On nose: hints of forest mushroom, fresh damp earth and autumn leaf scents !
On palate: ALL of the above flavours , with clean lively acidity , woven into nuances of rosemary, faint cedar boughs , pipe tobacco smoke and dark cherry pit freshness......the great balance that comes with 40 years of cellar consistency.....the Burgundy was everything we could asked for in a classic of this calibre.....the velvety medium bodied wine was a light Garnet color , throwing about a spoonful of sediment when decanted....drunk immediately , and held up over the next 45 minutes without fading......perfect accompaniment to marinated pork, roast potatoes and winter vegetables....May last another 3 years( IF well collared....) but not beyond.

  • Intriguing nose that has perfume, detailed tertiary notes, but still some fresh red fruit. Drying red cherry on the palate. Dried florals. Leather and autumn leaf. Palate is drying up a bit but is still totally pleasant. Resolved and mature. Strawberry. Mildly spiced. Actually a pretty good showing.

  • Thin and short but interesting to drink the second bottle of such an old village wine. Still has some acidity and fruit though it faded quickly so second glass wasn't as good as the first. Zero tannin. A little spice? Fun to try

  • Light body. Zero tannin but still reasonable acidity. Light fruit but on the fade likely. Interesting to drink a bottle like this. Have one more and certainly don't think it's one to wait on. Colour quite brown.
