  • One of the most aromatic muscadets I’ve come - have a quick moment of, “wait, did he pour me the gewurz or moschofilero instead?” Lemon, grapefruit zest, white flowers, and some musky tropical fruit on the nose. Palate attack is intensely grapefruit and mineral: grapefruit zest, pith and juice, with a boatload of crushed rock, followed by some apricot and tropical notes (muskmelon?) fanning out towards the end. Medium bodied and medium acid (for a muscadet) - one would wish for a bit more to stand up to the intense aromatics. Long, long finish of barely ripe apricot. Lip-smackingly good and great qpr at $11 a glass at Olde Bar.

  • MNB: Neutral Whites III (Home (Noe st)): (blind)
    Medium minus gold.
Aromatic. Dried musty flowers, yellow apple, estery.
On the palate, dry, 13% alcohol, high minus acid - a bit of a sharp, almost vinegar-like prickle.

It's a bit indistinct but pillowy - almost a bit fluffy.

    Savennieres or furmint?
    I think Savennieres.
Actually 2017 poiron dabin muscadet sevre et maine
