  • Opened 45 minutes before consumption but not decanted. Without food , perfectly balanced. Fruit is still prominent . This wine has a long life ahead of it. The fruit masks the alcohol and the tannins are well-integrated. With food, the tannins show a bit more and the fruit seems less prominent. All of this is leading me to hold back the remaining bottle I have for a few years.

  • Pulled this after the Almacerro tasting. No formal notes taken as this was pulled to share we folks that have never tried this bottling.

  • Opened by MJP as part of his Almacerro Palooza evening.....what a great host!

I had but a small taste of this one and no formal notes however it stood out to me with great smooth, powerful, dark fruit. It was smooth and well integrated and with a little air, ready to be enjoyed now. This surprised me in some ways but in others, it didn't. I expected high quality when MJP opened it and I was not disappointed. Thanks for including me in this event, my friend!

  • Two hour slow ox. Mushroom, leather, prune, and vanilla pudding on the nose. This is well made but drinks older than it is. I tried this later in the even, after numerous other bottles, so take my notes with a grain of salt. MJP’s notes are going to be more reliable.

  • Finally decided to open a Mole Hill after several years of being a Robins Nest Member.

PNP- Aromatic dark fruits fill the room upon opening. In the glass dark ruby. On the palate dark fruit cassis, chocolate & black raspberry.

Singular expression of Mole Hill Vineyard on Howell Mountain. 100% CS 95 Cases and only made

Easily a 97 out of the gate. A little bit of heat but overall a beautiful wine that was consumed over 2 hours.
