  Impressive wine from Arterberry Maresh. Could easily be mistaken for a Côte-d'Or 1er Cru, though more towards Meursault to me than Puligny.
  
  Pronounced aromas of toast, butterscotch and vanilla, but without being overpowering. Fruit aromas of quince and yellow apples keep the nose fresh. Hint of cardamom.
  Nice fresh acidity, though lacking just a bit of tension to grab extra points. Medium-bodied and long finish with a palette that feels like (what I imagine) fall in Oregon, with ripe apples and hint of butterscotch.
  
  Objectively very good wine, though personally I found it a little straight forward. By comparison I think Morgen Long makes the best chardonnays in Oregon with such brilliant tension and personality. Agree? Disagree? Hit me.

  Tasted at the "Red Barn" tasting room with Jim Maresh. Like most of Jim's Chard's this was aged in barrel for a year, then in steel tank for 6 months. 25-30% of the barrels were new in this case. It underwent full malolactic conversion. This was light to medium golden yellow color. It had a very fresh fruit note throughout, despite the Malo, it did seem to me a little yellow apple oriented, but maybe you could call it white peach(?). Nice bright acidity from the fairly early picking regimen. I picked up maybe a touch of oxidation on this at first but it didn't seem to linger. Nice textural balance. moderately long finish. Classy, distinctive wine overall.

  If you told me this was secretly a Grand Cru Burgundy with a fake Oregon label, I’d believe you! Slightly reductive at first, but opened up quickly with notes of yellow apple, lemon zest, white flowers, wet stone, butter and hints of toast. Energetic on the palate, with a bright acidic backbone and a long, nuanced finish with lots of freshness and depth. More elegant and mineral, and less oaky that Californian Chardonnay. Can easily handle another 5-8 years, but why wait?
