Sublime but far too young! Layers of dried strawberries, cherries and menthol framed by dusty tannins that should resolve in the next decade.
Decanted for three hours and it could have used another three or four. The il Bricco Barbarescos from Pio Cesare are absolute sleeper wines and likely some of my favorites from this region. Comes from the highest rows of the family's Cascina Il Bricco vineyard.

Immediately showing depth and layered complexities. Lots of minerality, tarry, leathey, dried cherry. Rich on palate but with excellent focus and restraint. Lingering with sweet spices, smoke and earthiness. Very good!

Medium intensity scents of red and dark cherries, sweet spice, dried citrus and cedar. Savoury mid palate with high acidity, grippy tannins, creamy oak. Somewhat astringent mid palate as the tannins need time to soften a bit and the oak needs time to integrate. Young.
