  With 와인쟁이부부. Beautiful, high intense nose of tobacco, mushroom, leather. Much more earthiness than fruitiness is shown on the nose. I sensed some holes in the mid palate.

  What a delightful bottle; Still expressive with *many* years ahead. Dark & maraschino cherry with orange peel. Firm but polished, fine-grained tannins. Wow! pity it's my last bottle

  Surprisingly dark. Plush pine & forest floor. Long, subtle finish. Very smooth. Lots of life yet

  Jammy marmalade, nice fruit and acidity, still tannins, must be the strong vintage.

  this was good but not great, had barbaresco typicity but was just a bit "large" for my tastes... i'm beginning to think the '97 vintage too big for me in Italy overall, or perhaps i simply need to let them all sleep for a decade or two
