It pours a pale golden-yellow color with enticing pear, apricot, beeswax, chamomile, Meyer lemon aromas with a subtle smoky notes. On the palate it's full-bodied with an appealing waxy texture and lively acidity with apricot, Meyer lemon curd, pear, white tea, and honeysuckle flavors with a long finish. 11% abv

The other two reviews were back a while and I can't identify much of what they tasted so maybe this bottle is past prime. I find some burnt rubber, gravel and some soft melon. Drinkable but just barely.

A tousled mix of beach sand, potting soil, pear, preserved lemon, smoky nut oil, and mango skin. In the mouth the 2017 Troon Beach Applegate Valley Roussanne offers a pure and unique textural landscape that carries with it a savory undertow—smokiness reemerges along with vivid grapefruit pith, sea salt, gunflint, and a gamey component that is rare in a white. 11.0% ABV | Sample

Troon Wines: Medium yellow color. Apricot and white peach aromas, with lots of floral perfume, baby’s breath and lilies. Light-bodied, only 11% alcohol, which is kind of crazy for a Roussanne but this totally works. Texture is rich and waxy and dusty but acidity is there and keeps it fresh. Apricot and lime peel mix with yellow flowers, raw almond, and some flinty, stony notes. Complex, texturally fascinating, a very unique Roussanne. Barrel fermented, aged for 6 months in mature oak.
