2nd of 3 bottles. A really interesting wine. Starts with flowers and that oh so familiar aromatic of "violets". Like m past tastings, this wine is unique.
in mouth it is more blue fruits than red. Very spiced at mid palette and the finish is dry and some tannin blowback against the fruit which quickly disappear.

Another exceptionally good - and unique- wine from Altamura. Deep purple. Full bodied, big and strong. Jammy cherry and blackberry flavors, with spice and earthy notes. Nice tannins that add structure. Bigger than Italian wines from the same grape. Solid QPR. Good now, and will get better.
Not sure about the ratings I read about this wine. I get a strong floral essence of violets on the nose. It is unique and enjoyable but just a little weird. On the palette it is a bit of a purple fruit but .... underdeveloped fruit set within a dry juice. The wine is spiced, racy and yet round.

The other reviews of this wine are really on point. Dark, spicy, a bit tannic. Needs a few more years of age. Excellent but too young right now (June 2019). Representative of what you’d expect of protypical Sangiovese.

2nd night notes.
Wow significantly better. Less violet and more black cherry. Rich and expressive with a noticeable leather in the aromatics.
This wine needs several years to mature. We got closer tonight after a 24 hour open bottle.
