One of Michel Gay's better Beaune Pinot Noirs. His strength is his ability to create structure and body - standing up to quite intense red fruit flavour. I think the flavour could be more complex - more tertiary is needed, and he needs to keep that alcohol controlled and tight, but overall a great drinking wine at an affordable price!!

Drank with Jay, Nathan and Clare. Slow ox'ed (can't remember for how long). Spicy, herbal aromas with cherries, hints of green stems and oak. Palate showed more pretty red cherries, earth, bark and again a hint of stems and oak. Medium bodied with nice acids and moderate tannins. Improved as the night went on.

The nose was gorgeous with fresh crushed red fruit, sweet florals and herbal tones, offset by hints of spice, and marine minerality. On the palate, I found soft yet zesty textures with tart red fruits and saline minerality, but lacking the follow-through that I craved from the bouquet. The finish was medium-long, displaying tart red fruits.
