{screwcap, 13.5%} Solid Bright garnet. Big coconut and raspberry aromas. Youthful. Palate has only minimal oak, lots of ripe red grape tannins and jammy character. Medium acid. Rustic but ripe and clean and modern. Medium/full weight. Tastes warmer than the alcohol suggests, but that’s the grape character. Still finishes rather short though, but decent for $20. Not a cellaring style though.

WAID - Great Wines Under $12: Ripe (but not overripe) fruit, as one might expect, but also some nice spicy, savory notes. Not a huge fan of Primitivo / Zin, and while this isn’t going to really change my mind, it's far more balanced than many Cali Zins and I do appreciate that. Also excellent QPR ($11.99).
