Nose: Cranberries, currant and bare oak (think untreated oak). When really close, I can smell a scent of smoke or ash tray. A very slight floral note the further you are away from the glass but becomes more intensely sour as you become closer.
Palate: Juicy, oaky-sour black cherries, some oak and after some time in the glass, some vanilla notes appear.
Dark ruby color. Dry with fine, grippy tannins. Medium body with medium-plus to high acidity. Short finish of about 3 seconds. After the Lindeman's hit from last night, I thought I'd try my luck again with another value wine from Trader Joe's. This one is still enjoyable but the acidity is a little too high and tastes a little sour. Even after some time in the glass, the acidity is still rather high. Decent for the price.
