I continue to love this wine, although I've found that some 17's (including this one) seem to be slightly closed down at the moment. Just not as open or rich as it was a year or two ago. Still lovely, with nice tension and great acidity, just seems a bit youthful and coiled up at the moment.

Burgundies at Chiu Tang: Clearly the youngest white of the night. Still very youthful, started off rather tropical but with time in the glass it became less ripe and more balanced. Still more about potential at the moment as the tartness dominated but will punch near GC level with time.

Slow oxed for 3 hours before serving. Nose is reticent. Palate shows peach, orchard fruit, minerals and white flowers. This wine is more about tension than power. It opens up slightly more with air, but still not showing the Leflaive signature. The 17 Leflaive Folatiere still requires a few more years to unfold. 93+ potential.

Very good. Liked it very much. My 2nd-favourite wine of the line-up. Detail notes may yet follow...

What more is there to say? Leflaive hit a grand slam with this one. Dense but balanced. Deep and complex and elegant and fresh. Bravo.
