On the nose, sour cherry, cocoa, stewed fruit, some funky earthiness. Medium body with medium+ acid. Still fairly tannic. It has a rustic quality but also has bright sour cherry/berry fruit. It's a style of wine I love, but if you like riper fruit and less funk, it may not be your thing. Still have another bottle and will wait another 2-4 years on it. Good value and good food wine.

Opened 4 hours in advance, then decanted and drank immediately. Opaque purple. Strong tobacco/cigar box on the nose that you could feel all the way down your throat. Also brioche with some red fruit underneath. Medium body and tannins. Flavor profile heavy in tart cherries, though the tartness went away with time in the glass. Cranberry finish. I enjoyed this but my wife absolutely hated it. Oh well. Paired well with pasta with beef bolognese sauce.

Underripe black cherry, black raspberry, cocoa and coffee. Plus mineral flavor from the volcanic souls of Aglianico del Vuture. Full bodied, medium - tannins, elegant finish.

This is a really well balanced and flavorful wine for its modest $19 price. Dark fruits and some background spice notes on the nose and palate. This as extremely flavorful with a decant and a couple hours of air. Nice low priced cellaring option for the Italian section of your collection.
