I was surprised. This was a gift and I wasn’t expecting much, but 8 years in its pretty classic CC. Fruits up front, with tertiary notes of leather and tuscan dust. Nice tannins, grip and finsh. Enjoyed with leftovers. Makes you wonder about the differences in wine sometimes, other than 150.00/ bottle, what else is there??

The 2015 is an awesome wine. Tastes like a baby Amarone with plush tannins and a hint of plum. Had the 2016 last night, still nice but significantly lighter.

A riper fruit expression of Chianti Classico, with some pretty cherry/plum, medium body, medium acid, some mineral and black tea bitterness, and a mild tannic grip. Plucky. Lacking the dirt road character that I associate with good CC, but still enjoyable for near term drinking.
