  • Great blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with powerful red fruit aromas well-balanced with woody notes. Rich in tannins giving it an excellent colour. Would strongly recommend a visit to the Château too, it was inspiring to see a vineyard committed to building a healthy relationship with nature and the planet - https://www.fontesteau.com/

  • Frisch aufgezogen noch recht zugenagelt. Mal an der Luft weiter beobachten.

  • First bottle from my cellar to get a feel for the wine's development. According to the Chateau, the assemblage is 53% Cabernet Sauvignon and 47% Merlot. One-hour splash decant. No sediment. Cassis aromas were noticeable during decant. After resting in the decanter, wine was clear, garnet from bowl to rim. In the glass, the nose was lovely: classic primary Bordeaux notes of black currants, walnut and vanilla. In the mouth, the first thing one notices is the wine's superb balance. Fruit was fairly deep: black currants, blackberries, a hint of citrus and a vanilla note. Body was medium plus. Finish was moderately long and still a bit crisp. The wine has entered its drinking window, but I believe it may yet improve with a little more time. It will likely last 10-12 more years, maybe even longer. At less than $18 a bottle, its QPR is fantastic. Wonderful wine that could be drunk on its own, with cheese or a meal.
