Big, jammy fruit but with a solid tannic underpinning of tobacco and leather. Lots of residue, would have benefited from decanting. Drink now, it's not improving.

From Burt's cellar, on Father's Day. Blackberry juice and cedar on nose and palate. Not pruney, not dried out, but sweet and flat and very superficial, with no depth and no secondary complexity.

This bottle did not go to the point of prune, but very clear black plum flavors, with oak, spice, and again the acidity. A very big wine, which we enjoyed with cheese, but also with the steak afterwards. Drink up.

I like jammy wines, but this one is now showing its over-ripeness with plum and pruny flavors, accented by spice and drying tannins and acidity. Big, opulent, like a port, and perfect for a marinade, I switched this in the menu to serve with the cheese course, where it was successful. Tasty in that context, it does not meet my expectations for a dry wine, hence the ordinary rating. As a cheese wine, rating would be 1-2 points higher. Drink up.

Awesome nose of spice and wood and wonderful, deep berry flavors. Drinking wonderful at this point.
