POB Special Cuvee Lunch (Moon Bay): Red fruits upfront backed with tertiary notes of earth, a little muted on the palate, would have preferred more weight on the body. Silky tannins with med to low acid. A little shut at this moment, surprising as most 2017 are drinking beautifully or expectation was high for this cuvee.

Pearl of Burgundy special cuvee lunch: Parcel adjacent to CSJ, plowed exclusively by horse since there's no access to motorised vehicles. 1-2 barrels made per vintage. A little rustic and stemmy, but had an elegance common to all '17s on show today. Quite reserved compared to the more exuberant '19, think this wine has much more to give.

Pierre Duroche is one of the most sought after Gevrey domaine. These VV vines were planted in 1923. Making them almost 100 years old! On the nose is classic Gevrey aromas. These wines are intense, powerful, concentrated, structured and complex. Violets, earth, red fruit and little spice. In the vertical I rated the vinages from top to lower. The lowest vintage I rated does not in any means say they are bad. All of these were amazing and I wish I had much more of them. 1. 2016 2. 2015 3. 2019 4. 2017 5. 2018 6. 2014

94+. Very primary and potentially shut down. I think this wine needs 10 years and may not hit peak for 15-20. Texturally reminded me more of Jouan '10 CSD than the Duroche '16 LSJ (non-VV).
