Pearl of Burgundy special cuvee lunch: Bright raspberry fruit. The energy here helped to dial down the rustic and stemmy notes. Both the '17 and '19 were distinctly earthy Gevreys compared to the Fourriers and Mortets.
Pierre Duroche is one of the most sought after Gevrey domaine. These VV vines were planted in 1923. Making them almost 100 years old! On the nose is classic Gevrey aromas. These wines are intense, powerful, concentrated, structured and complex. Violets, earth, red fruit and little spice. In the vertical I rated the vinages from top to lower. The lowest vintage I rated does not in any means say they are bad. All of these were amazing and I wish I had much more of them. 1. 2016 2. 2015 3. 2019 4. 2017 5. 2018 6. 2014

Some Wine Tasted at the Acker La Paulée Auction (Maybourne Hotel - Beverly Hills CA): Tasted at auction. My first time tasting this OV cuvee from any vintage, and wow, this is incredibly charming already with impressive density. Great already with lots of upside, 94-95 points?
