Did a side by side with the 2013 and 2014 Snipes Mountain Grenache along with an Old World CdP.
Last tasted in 2020 and staying with the same rating. This was another PnP and although it expresses Grenache the wine leaves me a tad empty. I would guess minimal extraction leaving a more simple CdP.
Perhaps a couple hour decant would help but having tasted this the following day I am not sure that would help elevate this wine to a higher rating.

A decent Rhone blend that is very Granche forward. Not very complex and seemed to lack enough acid to catty this very far. Nose was subtle as was the palate but for the price not bad.

A nose of some dark fruit and spice, dark purple in color. A medium to full bodied Rhone blend, with black cherry, raspberry, smoke, mineral and spice on finish. www.winelx.com

This wine really needed to be decanted. On opening, it was pitch black and very shut down with an off-putting "new car" aroma. But with enough air, the cleaning-product thing blew off. Then I found black cherry and strawberry aromas, wax, and in the mouth, a rich tannic black-fruited wine of the kind one sometimes stumbles on in the south. Fairly good, at that stage of opening up. Apparently a blend of Caledoc and Mourvedre: not sure I've had such a mix in the past. It reminded me of a Cahors red in some ways.
