Pierre-Olivier Garcia Tasting with other wines (Rebel Rebel): Pnp. Alluring aroma of rose, banding, strawberry, slate intermixed with candied fruits. Fresh on the palate with hint of meat and game, bitter sandy tannins ending with a persistent finish. Drinking beautifully tonight. This is the first vintage of this plot.

Tasted blind along side a Rayas. Although young, this had much more purity of fruit, very elegant with varietal expression. Decanting it for about 2 hours really helped. The 2016 Comando G's are very good across the line up.

Tasted blind. Reminiscent of a fine Rhone style. Elegant, smooth. Ripe red fruits. Deep underlying gamey, earthy and hint of leathery flavours. Excellent effort in producing a cool to moderate climate style old vine Garnacha.

Walkabout tasting, only brief impressions. Very interesting producer, making wines that are very much in the Chateau Rayas style. Long macerations, resulting in elegant wines with the tell tale leather, barnyard, cured meat aromas. The Brena was like a good, elegant CdP, the Umbrias a step up in complexity and volume and the Rubo al Norte left me speechless. Except at Rayas I have never seen such an complex, burgundian Grenache.

POB EP 2021 Dinner in SG: From a magnum. Rose and cherry, good wine but prefer the 2018.
