Very dark but slightly bricked on the edges. Excellent nose of leather and earth with some fruit. The mouthfeel immediately grabbed my attention, nice and smooth. This is drinking very well right now. The finish is extemely long.

OCP4W VII (WWW in Irvine, CA): -- popped and poured -- -- tasted a single glass non-blind over 45 min., a couple hours after uncorking --
NOSE: oak; leather; a bit of funk; soft red fruits; smoky; no alcohol fumes.
BODY: lots of fine particulate matter; medium to medium-full bodied; garnet color of medium depth.
TASTE: funky graphite; loganberry; dusty; grippy tannins; long finish; loosely knit; not alcoholic; seems to be in its prime right now. Gut impression score: 88 - 91.

Figeac vertical: Guessed late 90s modernist right bank, mocha overtones and dark fruit. Not much of interest here.

Aromatic, meaty, mineral, pepper, and currant nose. Dry with cocoa and cinnamon flavours coming out on the palate; long, currant, mineral finish.
4/5
