  • I bought this wine for $28 about 4 years ago. It normally sells for about $55. About 500 cases are made. I'm not aware of any ratings on this wine. This is a single vineyard wine. Bricco Francesco is a 1.7 hectare hilltop vineyard in the Rocche dell’Annunziata subzone in La Morra. The vines are 35 years old. It spends 2 years in oak casks. We took it to dinner at a local restaurant on Valentine's day. I paired it with an asian five spice duck. This wine was decanted for 1 hour before dinner and probably could have used more time in the decanter. It really opened up at the end of the dinner. 14.4% alcohol. Reddish purple color. This was made in more of a modern style. Notes of rose petals, tar, cherry and coffee. Warm approachable tannins. Solid structure. This wine is entering its prime drinking window now though 2014 in my opinion. 92 points.
