  • Unsurprisingly, a slightly different interpretation of Xinomavro to the usual Naoussa suspects.

Initially, it reminded me more of the Thymiopoulos Rapsani - a darker fruited, bigger mouthful. This lead me to believe that it could last decades, but a further hour or two opened, and it has lightened a little, and the mid palate (whether it’s tannins or ‘stuff’) have relaxed, and the acidic, higher toned aspect (which I was expecting in the first place) has come to the fore. Perhaps slightly less interesting than a Naoussa - seems a bit less savoury (?)

  • Beautifully integrated with an hour of decant time. Vibrant acidity with smooth tannins - light in color but packs a punch in body and flavor much like a good barbaresco. Notes of olive and tomato are evident along with oak and some herbal profile I couldn’t quite identify. Excellent value!

  • A great showing of xinomavro. Nose of red fruit, roses and noble oak flavours very reminiscent of nebbiolo if not for the tomato compote that gives it away. Very balanced mouthfeel with silky tannins and pronounced acidity. Lovely wine.

  • Bakalaki restaurant in thiong Bahru Singapore 🇸🇬 - one of my favourite places here. Medium purple Color. Dried herbs, black cherry, black pepper, a bit of anise as well. Med + acidity, racy tannins, Med body, Med alcohol, Med+ flavor intensity, Med finish. Nice dried cherries, peppery, chewy, saltiness lingering, overall balanced. I like it and this can certainly wait a few more years before opening so recommend to decant for an hour at his stage.
