Ripe black currants, ripe black cherries, ripe blueberries, smoke, cedar and fennel seed on the nose. Medium + intensity of aromas.Palate adds cardamom, tobacco, dust and dark chocolate, keeps most of the fruit from the nose. Medium + intensity of flavors. I agree with the other reviewer that the oak sticks out a little bit.
Medium body with medium + acid and firm medium tannin. Drinking well now, may be nice with some more tertiary flavors too, as that could tame the oak. I would probably hold it another year or two. Good pairing with a grilled hanger steak.
Day 2 - a nice seared beef flavor comes out, including the rendered fat. Also a tomato leaf flavor. IMO, better than it was on day 1.

I am shocked how accessible this wine is. Alpha definitely has some tricks in the bag and they are working really well. Gorgeous sour cherry juice with a svelte profile and just enough oak to round out the Xino edges. Acidity with a pom-like element provides structure. A bit of raw leather and slight stoniness. Very succulent on the finish heading into a bit of umami.

This was perfectly pleasant to drink, but I found the oak a bit obtrusive/unintegrated.
