Community Tasting Notes (4) Avg Score: 92 points

  • Bright gold, lighter than the 2001 Josmeyer Pinot Gris Brand. A primary, perfumed expressive bouquet of pure honey, pineapple, passion fruit and other exotic fruits. Also notes of Turkish delight, cinnamon and crème brûlée. On entry to the palate, honeyed, glycerol and dense. Gorgeous racy acids with real intensity. Rich and sweet but not cloying. Dense mid palate with big dry extract and good structure. Viscous with flavours of honey, pineapple, mango, citrus with spices and some minerality. At its peak now but with several years ahead of it. 94.

  • Very fragrant nose of citrus and light pear. This is semi-sweet with an extremely fat and rich entry. Heavy mid-mouth of apple and cotton candy. Very well done.

  • Appearance: Bright and clear, medium (+) lemon in color, with watery rims and legs
Nose: Clean, medium intensity and developing aromas of hay, mushroom, kerosene, lime, grapefruit, pear and mango.
Palate: Off-dry, with medium acidity, this wine is of medium alcohol and medium (+) bodied, with medium intensity flavors of almond, petrol, mango, grapefruit and mushroom, finishing with a medium (+) length.
Conclusion: Very good quality Alsace Grand Cru Pinot Gris with a highly complex nose, showing both mature, mineral and fruit characters, the wine is reasonably concentrated, with a slightly sweet palate and creamy texture of equally complex flavors, accompanying by a fairly long length. Ready to drink now and can further keep for another 2-4 years.
