Past its prime; not so fruity any more, very short finish, still palatable just not great. Still an excellent addition to a pot of home made sauce - let simmer all day with some Italian sausage. Serve the rest with dinner and you won't miss the lack of fruitless.
Drink soon, real soon.

A real disappointment. I'm used to the higher end Ruffinos which are very good. This one fails to deliver. Not much complexity. Nose is musty, almost damp rotting leaves - which might be OK if there was anything else. Light, tart, and agree with the "hot on the finish" comment by Siegel75 below. Perhaps for a $12 bottle of wine, I'm just drinking it a couple years too late.

Garnet to dark garnet, slightly cloudy. Rustic nose with aromas of muddled dark fruits and a smoky base. Primary flavors of red fruits. Tart acidity. maybe some tannins hiding behind the acidity, light body. Drink now. Disappointing. PURPLE adds "twiggy, woody".

Medium ruby color. Somewhat unfocused nose of chalk dust and tart cherry with a touch of milk chocolate. Medium bodied with good acidity; thins out a bit on the end but this is a nice everyday Chianti. Good with food.
