Sorry to say this was a let down. Color indephirable on account of dark restaurant. Nose was initially a nice Bordeaux blend of fruit and forest floor and vanilla but there was an intermittent waft of alcohol. Palate confirmed strong alcohol taste - quite off-balanced and great disappointment. Weak tanins to balance... Medium finish. It’s a shame because it could have been good... My guess is the 14% alcohol with weak tanins did them in. I would try another vintage in the hopes that the potential of these 100 year old vines might be realized.
