  • Wine was given as a gift so provenance unknown.

Decanted in a Grassl Carafe at 55 degrees for approximately 1 hour and consumed out of a Grassl Liberte glass over the next 3+ hours. It was paired with egg pasta and marinara sauce.

The color was a light to medium crimson with brick edges. The aromas were of red fruits, flowers and barnyard. The flavors were very pleasant of cherries, minerality and earth. There were minimal tannins and medium acidity.

The wines appearance and taste were of a wine that is older than 9 years. If served blind, I would have guessed the wine was closer to 12-15 years old. The wine was delicious but I suggest popping a cork sooner rather than later, as I'm not sure where this will be in another 5 years from now. It appears to be drinking in its prime window and should remain there for another year or 2.

  • La Fiorita Winery Tour (Zoom): Pale ruby, with some browning and fading on edges. Aromas of red cherry, mint, moss, dark florals, cocoa, caramel and tar. Tannins generally rounded with still a slight bite, and some alcohol burn, fairly ripe red cherry flavours, and green grass, coffee, nutmeg, and a slight bit of barnyard and tar. A good length and fairly complex. Nice!
