Drank next to same wine 2019 vintage and Lafarge '17 CdB Villages - very interesting comparison. Lafarge was more aromatic and perfumed; d'Angerville probably fuller and more interesting on palate. Lacy, delicate, but solidly built with dark berry aromatics merging into earth and spice.

Very elegant and soulful Bourgogne Rouge, from a pretty and approachable vintage - nice with a little bit of bottle age. Speaks of Volnay: dark fruited aromatics, lacy and elegant on palate but also soulful, finish is marked by a limestone minerality streak. Not overly complex but beautiful for its level.

Best showing of this wine yet - darker, soulful, really showing Volnay notes - earthy and soil driven, elegant and lacy, with some real depth.
