  One-hour decant through a screened and aerating funnel. No sediment. Bold black fruit emanated during decant. After resting, wine was clear, garnet bowl to rim with a clear halo. Nose made it clear the wine was still in nascent stage. Dark berries, powdered chocolate, vanilla and some arugala. In the mouth: black fruits, chocolate creme and herbs. Tannins were integrating but nowhere near completion. Acid was still forward but the wine was delicious even though it will be better with more time. Long finish. This wine shouted "Howell Mountain" from decant to the last glass. In a few years, this wine will be even better!

  Very good wine. Nice earthy and slightly Smokey flavor. I bet it will be better in another year or 2.
