Some current red Burgundies (Chicago, IL): Served double blind. A huge sulphurous, farty note on the nose. The palate is ripe without being overbearing, and shows more acidity than the 2018 version. Red fruit and a slight bit of smokiness but the offensively sulphurous nose has me thinking something isn't quite right here.

Tasted over 2 hrs -saturated purple red -low key spice dark fruit and oak -med acidity is just enough to give finishing lift, med weight somewhat diffuse abundant earthy spicy dark fruit with a moderately oaky signature, med/med+ tannins -oak-forward bordering on excessive though there may be just enough underlying fruit and structure to absorb it

As usual deep; a thwack of oak; rich dark fruit; quite dense, suppressed fruit (due to oak?), chunky; lacks verve. Solid, in both senses.
