DC/Chicago Wine Dinner Extravaganza (Officina - Wasington, DC): This is a tough wine to assess. So much here to enjoy, but if served blind, I do not think I would have thought it Burgundy. Black fruit, raw and roasted meat with ultra, extreme concentration. A wine that is more easy for me to admire and respect than to enjoy, at least right now. My first time having this wine from this vintage, and I will want to try this again some time between 2025 and 2030 because I think it has 93-94 point potential, but a lot has to happen to get there.

Very dense with lots going on - earth, spice and darker berry flavors. While enjoyable now, it will be a real stunner in another few years. Will be sure to give a longer decant next time. Perhaps 96+ potential.

Lovely violets on the nose. Amazingly rich and concentrated in the mouth, with a velvety texture. Reminds me of Bachelet's Charm but with more acidity and overall structure for ageing. Decadent mouthfeel - real density although less expansive than the 2005 Lavaux St Jacques. This is a rocking Charmes! 96-97pts

(Bernard Dugat-Py Charmes-Chambertin) Dark red violet color; berry, cherry, oak, boysenberry nose; tight, tart cherry, mineral, tart raspberry palate with depth and richness; long finish
(Dugat-Py Bernard Charmes-Chambertin) Deeply coloured. The nose plums quite some depth, but the fruit is the only one so far that really has some roast effects - just slightly over-ripe. Quite a simple entry but the wine does a great job of expanding over the palate. There’s plenty of well-coated tannin but I would have preferred just a twist more acidity - seems lower than the other wines. Good primary length and not overtly oaky. High-quality wine but no obvious complexity.
(Charmes-Chambertin DUGAT-PY) 2005 Dugat-Py Dear Friends, 2005 Dugat-Py is here - prices are high but they will probably continue to escalate. If 2005 Roumier Musigny is $5000 and the Bonnes Mares is $1200-1500 then these seem downright cheap. With that in mind, this is the rarest set of Dugat-Py we’ve seen since we started working with the wines - I did not want to offer them until the bottles were already in the warehouse, inspected and in hand (they are pristine). Preference will be given to support of the entire portfolio - no orders for the Pommard, Mazis, Mazoyeres and Charmes alone. Please limit requests to 6/each wine. (Not that I need to say this but, this is not C. Dugat) THIS IS NOT VIA THE GREY MARKET - these have been pristinely handled directly from the source with only one stop en-route to our warehouse: 2005 Dugat-Py Pommard “La Levrieres” Vieilles Vignes 2005 Dugat-Py Gevrey “Petite Chapelle” ” 2005 Dugat-Py Gevrey “Lavaux St Jacques” 2005 Dugat-Py Gevrey “Champeaux” ” 2005 Dugat-Py “Charmes-Chambertin” ” 2005 Dugat-Py “Mazoyeres-Chambertin” 2005 Dugat-Py “Mazis-Chambertin” - $1173.72 ” Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Burg6710 Burg6720 Burg6730 Burg6740 Burg6750 Burg6760 Burg6770

We thought this was accessible, but it became even more resolved and floral only towards the end of the long lunch. Compact fruit quality. 94+
