  • Opened, poured into a decanter and tasted over two days (with refrigeration under vacuvin over night).
    Grassl Cru glass.
    Deep purple color.
Nose offers floral notes and red and dark berries. Wisp of herbs suggesting while cluster.
Nice good fruited wine. Acidity to add balance and keep the wine fresh.
    Enjoyable.

I disagree with the comment that the wine was past its peak. My bottle was still full of freshness, fruit and character. We all taste different bottles.

14.4% abv.Good cork; branded without vintage or vineyard.

  • Method: opened almost 2 hours in advance; Cab glass; 60 degrees

    Look: pale ruby

Nose: pomegranate, dark cherry, violet, dried bay leaf, faint well done grilled meat

Palate: pomegranate, dried herbs, orange peel, faint green olive; medium+ finish of orange peel, dried herbs, pepper, minerality; dry; medium (almost med-) body; medium+ drying tannins (tannins actually seem more drying than they did when I first opened the wine); medium to medium+ acidity

Overall thoughts: Really nice complexity and earthy/savory notes. Somewhat surprisingly, the tannins and mouthfeel in general don't do much for me and suggest this wine really craves some food (good thing I'm making some lamb ragu). 90 - 91 points. Great wine!

  • Definitely past prime -- best on day #2. It has lost a lot of the energy and intensity. At its best, it was an easy drinker with good dark fruit and nice mouthfeel. Maybe bottle variation?

  • Starting to brick a little..
    This was 100% whole cluster..
    Green pepper…steaminess, raspberry nose
Same profile on tongue….hmmm….it’s decent but feels borderline past prime….

  • PNP. Nicely aromatic black fruit. On the palate, black cherry, blueberry, olive tapenade. A new world take, richly fruit driven, but delicious fruit, and enough acid and savory elements to keep it interesting. A glass or two for me, best with food.
