great barolo - slashed out of bottle and back an hour before consumption. nose with roses, violets, cherries, leather, vanilla, a bit of anise and tar and cake-ish feel to it - reflected on the palate with eathy lichorish added. A lot of flesh on the bone but mathed by the acidity. Tannins surely there, but again kept in check by fruit and acidity. Top barolo.
